Founder & Managing Principal

Michael D. Peacock, CEO & President

Michael D. Peacock has dedicated his career to strengthening American Indian businesses and tribal communities through business development, economic strategy, strategic investment, and culturally grounded leadership. Guided by a deep commitment to service and mentorship, he brings more than three decades of experience advancing long-term, community-driven economic self-sufficiency for Indigenous and underserved communities.

In 2019, under Mr. Peacock’s visionary leadership, Southwest Business Development Consultants, LLC was awarded a $2 million multi-year grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA). This award launched the Four Winds Diversified (FWD) Project, a transformative initiative delivering business training, access to capital, contracting support, strategic partnerships, and job creation. The FWD Project serves American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, and minority-owned businesses across rural reservations and underserved communities throughout the Southwest and nationwide. Over six years, the FWD Project has generated significant, measurable impact:

· More than 300 minority business enterprises served

· Over $510 million in contracts and capital secured

· 3,310 new jobs created

· A 350%+ return on investment for the MBDA

In 2014, Mr. Peacock founded Go Weh Yaza, LLC, an American Indian–owned joint venture established to meet the growing demand for culturally informed, high-quality institutional food service management. The company serves tribal educational institutions, federal agencies, and U.S. military installations. Under his leadership, Go Weh Yaza emphasizes operational excellence, cultural sensitivity, and value, while expanding opportunities for Native-owned enterprises within institutional food services.

In 2022, Albuquerque Business First recognized Mr. Peacock in its “New Mexicans to Know” series. From 2017 through 2025, Southwest Business Development Consultants, LLC & Go Weh Yaza, LLC have ranked among the Top Ten Indigenous-Owned Businesses in New Mexico by revenue, reaching as high as #2 statewide.

Mr. Peacock holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Business Management from the College of Santa Fe and is a graduate of the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth’s Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) Partnership Program. A proud member of the Pueblo of Laguna and of Cayuga, Seneca, and Mohawk descent, he remains steadfast in his mission to advance economic opportunity, sovereignty, and lasting prosperity for Indigenous communities nationwide.
